Summertime Smoothness – no more dry skin this summer

Exfoliate your legs

You may want to to exfoliate your skin before you proceed with your hair removal method of choice. It’s important to understand your type of skin so you can better prepare it. When you have dry skin, the rough dead cells on its surface stops the moisturiser from sinking in and doing its work. If you’re in need of a deeper cleanse, you might also want to exfoliate again.

Don’t be shy to moisturise

Shaving, waxing and hair removal cream, whatever you decide, don’t forget to apply a rich moisturiser or body butter right after the hair removal and right after your shower. It is recommended to wait 24hrs before using anti-perspirant, perfumed products, artificial tanning equipment, swimming or sunbathing.

If you are prone to dry skin, moisturisers with hyaluronic acid (HA) can be a lifesaver. It’s a supercharged moisturiser that your body naturally produces but as we start to age, we have less and less of it. Be generous in the amount you use and don’t forget to apply extra on those particularly dry areas.

Rub body oil over your legs

A good layer of body oil over your water-based moisturiser can protect your skin day and night. If you put a layer of body oil over your creamed legs, the oil will make the perfect barrier to prevent you from losing the most beneficial effects of your body cream. The oil will even lock in more moisture--it’s a great extra step if you have dry or sensitive skin.
